Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte sets new opening date

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The $110 million Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte is targeting an Aug. 5 opening in uptown, after months of delays.

That luxury boutique hotel initially expected to open in mid-April, but the spread of the novel coronavirus forced it to push back those plans. A July opening was also pushed back.

“We want to make sure we’re opening our hotel in the right environment. The business environment was such in July, we thought it was just prudent to be smart and delay a few weeks,” says Hugh Templeman, general manager.

It’s a combination of being fiscally conscious as well as focused on safety as Covid-19 cases continue to climb in the Charlotte market, he adds.
