CHARLOTTE — Girl Tribe has invested in a $200,000, 2,000-square-foot production facility in the lower South End as its footprint continues to grow.
The company now produces its girly graphic T-shirts, tanks, and other products in house, says Sarah Baucom, who founded Girl Tribe with Carrie Barker in 2014.
The duo invested just $200 to get the business off the ground, producing 48 graphic tees. These days, their shirts drive the brand’s success — growth of 250% from 2021 to 2022. Projections are that it will grow another 50% in 2023.

“We knew that our return on our investment could happen really quickly after we saw that,” she says.
They turned to outside financing for the first time for their offshoot, Girl Tribe Print Shop LLC, securing a loan through Pinnacle Bank.
