Thousands of health care workers who have been on the front lines of the pandemic, including many from the Carolinas, have been invited by the NFL to this weekend’s Super Bowl game, where the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The NFL is inviting 7,500 vaccinated health care workers to attend Super Bowl LV to thank and honor them for their continued extraordinary service during the pandemic.

“I think ‘giddy’ is the right word,” said Dr. Manoj Pariyadath, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. “I’ve been that way ever since I heard that.”
