CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Georgia football continues to make it clear that it isn’t scared to schedule top non-conference opponents during the regular season. That notion was reaffirmed as the Bulldogs announced on Tuesday that they will play Clemson’s Tigers at Bank of America Stadium in next year’s season opener.
UGA was originally set to host San Jose State on Sept. 4 after both schools agreed on a contract in 2017 that pays the Spartans $1.8 million. The Bulldogs will now absorb the hit for the chance to gain more exposure in what likely will be a top-10 matchup, playing on a national stage at a neutral site in Charlotte.
