GASTONIA, N.C. — Gaston County officials have announced the location of its warming shelter has changed.
Beginning this Friday, those in need this winter can seek shelter at the First United Methodist Church of Gastonia.
It will be located in the Family Life Center on the church’s campus on East Franklin Boulevard.
“We are immensely grateful for Pastors Justin and Melissa Lowe and the entire team at First United Methodist Church of Gastonia for stepping up to provide this critical need,” Gaston County Assistant County Manager Steve Eaton said. “They truly have a heart for service, and their partnership is the perfect example of how local government and members of our community can work together to better serve those in need.”
Previously, the warming shelter operated at the Gastonia Farmer’s Market.
It will be open from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning.
