They were called to Longhorn Steakhouse on Cox Road around 4:45 a.m. and arrived to find heavy fire and smoke, the Gastonia Fire Department said.
Nearly 30 firefighters fought the two-alarm fire and got it under control in about 45 minutes, officials said.
One Gastonia firefighter suffered a minor injury to his lower leg and was treated and released from Gaston Memorial Hospital, the fire department said.
