GASTONIA, N.C. — The Gastonia Police Department is searching for a man who may have cognitive impairments.

Officers said Jeffery Rabon was last seen at his apartment by a neighbor’s doorbell camera on Monday. He appeared to be confused and left without his wallet, cell phone, or car keys.

Family members told police they have not spoken to Rabon since September 30.

“Please, please. We just hope he’s alive right now, we’d do anything to have any information about his whereabouts,” Jeffery’s father Randy Rabon said.

Jeffery Rabon’s parents said they typically talked to him twice a week. He also texts them a lot.

“We would get a text from him pretty often saying, ‘I love you. Hope you are having a great day,’” Jeffery’s mother Florence Rabon said.

However, last week he went silent. And when his parents arrived at his place, they found his shoes side by side outside his car. His apartment door was also unlocked.

“It’s very short and he did seem confused and disoriented,” Randy Rabon said.

The family said they then called the police who began investigating. Loved ones have also started searching on their own, checking the woods and streams nearby.

They even went door to door in the community, as well as checked hospitals.

“We just didn’t find anything that gave us hope or gave us evidence of his presence,” Randy Rabon expressed.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Gastonia Police Department at 704-866-6702.
