GASTONIA, N.C. — Low-water levels at a Gastonia lake revealed an unoccupied car beneath the surface, which caught the attention of local authorities.
A check of the vehicle’s tag and VIN showed that the submerged car discovered in Rankin Lake was stolen in January.
The Gastonia Police Department tweeted on Saturday that crews had removed the car from the small lake.
No further information has been released.
