Gaston animal shelter renews request for help adopting animals

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — The process of refinishing the kennel floors at the Gaston County Animal Shelter continues with a week and a half left before the project is completed.

Thirty-seven animals have been adopted and 65 have been taken by placement partners.

The shelter is currently housing 27 dogs and 53 cats, which are optimal numbers, according to officials. However, the problem is animals keep coming into the shelter on a daily basis.

So Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement is renewing a request for public assistance in helping find homes for the animals in our shelter.

The Animal Shelter at 220 Leisure Lane in Dallas is open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
