ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. — Omar Gray, a fugitive wanted for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, has been captured after evading authorities for 18 years.
Gray was originally indicted by a Robeson County Grand Jury on May 15, 2007, prompting a nationwide manhunt that included his appearance on America’s Most Wanted and an Interpol Red Notice.
He was apprehended in Los Angeles, California, where he was living under the alias ‘Timothy Bloxson.’
Gray’s true identity was uncovered after he was arrested on unrelated charges and fingerprinted, leading to a forensic fingerprint comparison by a certified latent print examiner from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Following his identification, Gray was extradited to North Carolina, where he was formally arrested by SBI agents and RCSO deputies on January 28, 2025.
Gray is currently in custody in North Carolina, awaiting further legal proceedings.
