CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This fried chicken restaurant and beer hall is targeting an early 2020 opening in South End.
Construction on The Eagle’s 5,000-square-foot space at Atherton Mill is underway, said Brian Riggenbach, owner and regional partner.
He is targeting a January opening for the restaurant.
Riggenbach also operates sister concept Bakersfield, which has been a fixture in Dilworth for five years now. He said growth in South End made the neighborhood an ideal spot for a second restaurant in the market.
“It’s great to expand in a market where we are already successful,” Riggenbach said.
The Eagle joins Atherton Mill as part of an ongoing $100 million revamp of that site, which is bringing more residential and expanded retail with street-level offerings to South End.
