Foundation in NC to create fund to help nonprofits impacted during COVID-19 (WSOC)

RALEIGH, N.C. — From providing food to helping with housing, nonprofits across North Carolina have stepped up to help those most impacted by the pandemic.

Now, a fund is being created to help non-profits who may be struggling to keep up with demand during COVID-19, WLOS reported.

The North Carolina Community Foundation is starting a healing communities fund. The money raised will provide resources for non-profits, especially in more rural areas.

“Whether it’s food, health support, human resources, mental health services, I mean, it’s really across the gamut,” said Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, NC Community Foundation president and CEO

The foundation said it is forming an advisory committee to make recommendations for grants. Recipients are expected to be named in fall 2020.
