Fortune 500 company eyes Gaston County for 107-job project

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gaston County appears to be in the mix for an economic development project from a marquee company.

At its meeting Tuesday, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to consider an incentive grant for Project Seattle. The company behind that code-named project is described in county documents as a Fortune 500 company, but its identity is not revealed.

Project Seattle is considering Gaston County for an investment of $21 million and the creation of 107 jobs with an average hourly wage of $25.82, county documents state. If the project moves forward, the investment is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
