Fort Bragg commander accused of inappropriate relationships while serving in Afghanistan

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg senior commander is charged with having inappropriate relationships, porn and alcohol while serving in Afghanistan.

Brigadier General Jeffrey Sinclair was sent back to the U.S. during the middle of his tour in May.

The Army conducted a criminal investigation, and Sinclair faces a possible court martial.

"The purpose of the hearing is to determine the merits and seriousness of the charges, so as to make recommendations on whether the matter should proceed to trial or not," said Fort Bragg representative Col. Kevin Arata.

The charges against Sinclair include forcible sodomy, maltreatment of subordinates and filing fraudulent claims, among others.
