CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A former West Charlotte High School student is suing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, alleging his former band teacher sexually assaulted him.
The lawsuit states that CMS was aware of teacher Duncan Gray's well-documented history of inappropriate sexual behavior with students. The suit makes several claims, including sexual discrimination, negligent hiring, and assault and battery.
Channel 9 has reached out to CMS for a response, but hasn’t heard back.
