CHARLOTTE — The Mecklenburg County Board of Elections has selected a new early voting location in Steele Creek after the original location was damaged.
The board announced it no longer plans to use the former TapHaus49 restaurant on Carowinds Boulevard as an early voting site.

The site has extensive damage, as well as no running water.Toilets have been removed from the wall and the electrical panel has been destroyed, according to the board.
In its place, the board will use Steele Creek Library.
TapHaus49 officially closed its doors in 2019.
