Former police officer accused of shoplifting from Walmart 9 times while on duty

YORK, S.C. — A former officer with the York Police Department has been arrested in connection with nine shoplifting incidents at a Walmart, according to SLED.

Kashin Mcelveen, 31, has been charged with misconduct in office and shoplifting.

Mcelveen is accused of shoplifting more than $90 worth of items from the store on Liberty Street in York, South Carolina. He was on duty when the alleged incidents took place, SLED officials said.

Mcelveen was arrested on Dec. 9 and has been booked into the Moss Justice Center.

No other details have been released.
