CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A former member of the Texas-Mexican mafia will spend more than 15 years in prison for funneling drugs into Charlotte, prosecutors said.
Fred Carrasco was also affiliated with two local gangs, prosecutors said.
They said between 2005 and 2009 he trafficked marijuana and cocaine into Charlotte and other cities.
He fled to Mexico in 2009 but came back four years later to face federal charges.
