CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A judge sentenced the former CEO of First Legacy Community Credit Union to federal prison Monday after she pleaded guilty to making false entries in its books.

Saundra Torrence was known for advocating for the African-American community and for helping small businesses but last year, she was accused of defrauding the bank.
