Former Carolina Panthers player Thomas Davis to open sports bar, lounge

CHARLOTTE — Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis wants his Ten58 Sports Bar and Lounge to be one of the city’s top venues when it comes to game-day experiences.

Construction is underway on that 2,313-square-foot venue at 430 W. Fourth St. in uptown Charlotte — space that was formerly home to Taproom Social. Davis says it’s about creating a place for fans to kick back and unwind, enjoy great food and drinks, and listen to music.

“You cannot miss this spot, and I promise you it’s going to be one of the hottest spots in Charlotte,” Davis says in a recent Instagram video.

Ten58 — with the 58 being a nod to his jersey number while playing for the Panthers — will be 100% owned and operated by Davis.

He says the goal is to open by the first Panthers home game on Sept. 11 against the Cleveland Browns.
