CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte's popular Food Truck Friday event made its spring debut Friday at new South End location Sycamore Brewing on Hawkins Street.
Plans to build an office complex on the old lot near South Tryon Street and Camden Road forced vendors to find a new home, and it was a search filled with a series of logistical challenges.
Food truck owner David Stuck of Tin Kitchen was among five trucks featured Friday, a significant drop from the near dozen trucks able to serve in the old lot.
Stuck said it was a necessary move to accommodate neighboring South End businesses.
"Ultimately what we settled on was maybe not what everybody wanted," he said of the decrease in trucks.
He added truck owners worked with Sycamore Brewing to manage parking needs, facilities and crowd control when scheduling vendors for the event.
