CHARLOTTE — An American Airlines subsidiary plane made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff Saturday morning.
Flight JIA5616, operated by PSA Airlines, was scheduled to take off at 9:27 a.m. on Saturday. Around 10 a.m., first responders heard calls of an emergency landing.
The plane was on its way to Burlington, Vermont when it returned to Charlotte Douglas due to possible mechanical issues, according to American Airlines.
A representative for American Airlines said the plane landed safely, and guests continued to Burlington on a different aircraft.
Channel 9 has asked American Airlines what the mechanical issue was and how many people were on board.
