Three first responders were on board when the truck went off the road and overturned. They were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Thomas said.
Troopers said the fire truck crashed because it was going too fast around a curve.
Bud Wilson Road and Sparrow Dairy Road were closed for hours before reopening Saturday afternoon, according to Gaston County 911 communications.
