Firefighters put out 2-alarm fire at Captain D's in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Fire Department put out a two-alarm fire at a restaurant in south Charlotte Tuesday morning.

The fire began around 7:15 a.m. at the Captain D’s on East Woodlawn Road.

No injuries were reported, according to MEDIC.

Fire investigators said it started accidentally in a trash receptacle in the kitchen of the restaurant.

It’s estimated the fire caused $135,000 in damages.
