CHARLOTTE — Charlotte firefighters said a person who they pulled from a burning home in east Charlotte early Friday did not survive.
The fire happened around 3 a.m. on Herrin Avenue, near The Plaza.

The fire department tweeted that firefighters were able to find someone in the house and get them out. Paramedics took that person to the hospital with serious injuries, but shortly before 11 a.m., the fire department tweeted that the victim had died.
Investigators said the fire was an accident, caused by cooking.
