CHARLOTTE — A two-alarm fire broke out at an apartment building in south Charlotte Sunday morning, and one person was killed, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
It started around 11:45 a.m. on Park Road at an apartment complex just north of South Mecklenburg High School.
CFD called multiple engines and crews for a three-story apartment building that caught fire. Crews were at the scene for several hours.
Just before 2 p.m., CFD confirmed that one person died in the fire. The victim hasn’t been identified yet, but CFD said they were a resident.
Several firefighters were treated for injuries at the scene, CFD said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
