Fire at south Charlotte Harris Teeter intentionally set, firefighters say

CHARLOTTE — A fire at a south Charlotte Harris Teeter was intentionally set Friday night, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

It occurred just before 9 p.m. on Rea Road.

Firefighters said it took 60 firefighters almost an hour to get the fire under control.

No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters said an investigation determined the fire “to be incendiary in nature.”

It caused 20,000 in damages, according to the fire department.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
