CHARLOTTE — A firefighter and resident suffered minor injuries after a house fire Tuesday afternoon in south Charlotte, the Charlotte Fire Department tweeted.

An electrical issue in the back of a two-story home caused the fire to break out at about 1:30 p.m. The house on Landen Drive is close to Ardrey Kell Road and the blaze disrupted traffic.
It took 30 firefighters more than 20 minutes to control the blaze.

The fire caused about $175,000 in damage.
Smoke alarms alerted people in the house, which may have saved their lives, the fire department said.
Unfortunately, the family dog died in the fire.
