CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Fire Department responded to a house with heavy flames showing in north Charlotte on Sunday, officials said.
The home in the 2800 block of LD Drive began to burn just after 12 p.m., according to the department’s Twitter account.
CFD said 30 firefighters needed 15 minutes to control the fire. No injuries were reported, but the estimated property loss was $50,000.

Three families lived in the home and were displaced. CFD said the Greater Charlotte Red Cross was assisting the residents.
CFD investigators deemed the fire to be an accident due to an electrical issue.
