HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A big change is coming to a familiar spot in Huntersville’s Birkdale Village.

Rare Roots Hospitality says it will open a second location of Fin & Fino in the space currently occupied by Dressler’s Restaurant. The hospitality group owns both restaurants.

“Dressler’s is a very special restaurant to us and we’re grateful to the community for the love and support since we opened the doors Sept. 22, 2003. “Being our first restaurant, we did not take this decision lightly,” owner Jon Dressler said in a news release. “The guests and team are our family, so this is by no means a goodbye to any of them. With all of the exciting changes coming to Birkdale Village, we feel it is time to bring in something new ourselves. The energy and charisma of Fin & Fino will fit in well and will be an integral player in the updates underway there.”

Rare Roots will close Dressler’s in mid-September to allow for approximately three months of renovations and open the doors to Fin & Fino this winter.

Fin & Fino in Uptown Charlotte recently celebrated its 5th anniversary. The coastal concept with a raw bar brings together fresh seafood, high-quality meats, house-made pastas, and locally grown produce on a menu of small plates. The restaurant is also known for its expansive cocktail menus, which will be replicated at the Birkdale Village location.

Rare Roots Hospitality’s executive chef Scott Hollingsworth will spearhead menu development for the new location.

The 5,200 square foot space will have seating for more than 200 guests, including 100 in the dining room, 60 at the bar, and 45 on the recently renovated patio.
