BADIN, N.C. — Police in Badin are investigating a homicide after they said a man shot another man in the head Thursday night.
Badin Police Chief Bryan Lambert told Channel 9 that around 8:20 p.m. two men got in a fight over a woman at a home on Willow Street.
Lambert said 66-year-old Charles Maher was shot in the head by 60-year-old Randy Faggert.
Witnesses, including an off-duty Stanly County deputy, followed Faggart to his home on Cedar Street, where police arrested him.
Faggart has been charged with first-degree murder.
