Man charged after fight at Charlotte high school leads to shooting, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE — Two adults got into a fight Tuesday on the campus of Julius Chambers High School, which led to one of them being shot, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

The victim had non-life-threatening injuries.

The north Charlotte school was not in session and there were no students involved.

The adults are not employees of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Sschools. However, officials said they were contractors.

On Thursday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the suspect, 22-year-old Brent Wall, had been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm on school grounds and possession of a firearm on school grounds.
