CHARLOTTE — The Federal Emergency Management Agency is extending the deadline to apply for Helene assistance in North and South Carolina.

Homeowners and renters in impacted counties are eligible for financial help.
Anyone who needs help applying can visit a disaster recovery center.

The new deadline for North Carolinians is Feb. 6.
The new deadline for South Carolinians is Jan. 28.
