NORTH CAROLINA — Police in several states are looking for a woman who they said has tricked Walmart employees in North Carolina so she can steal more than $100,000 worth of iPads.
Police said Ebony Washington has done the same thing in several other states too.
Dunwoody police said surveillance video from a Georgia store shows her returning items she bought just half an hour earlier.
Investigators believe Washington takes the iPad out of its box and reseals it with a makeshift machine in her car.
Then, they said she gets her money back.
Police have not said if any of the crimes have happened in the Charlotte area.
