CHARLOTTE — Police have charged a juvenile for a fatal crash involving a motorcycle Thursday night in southeast Charlotte.

Detectives were investigating the wreck just after 7 p.m. near Providence Road and Raintree Lane.

MEDIC confirmed the motorcyclist, 22-year-old Anthony Toineeta, died at the scene.

According to officers, the driver in the car was making a left turn from Raintree Lane onto Provident Road and pulled in front of the motorcyclist. Investigators said the driver failed to yield the right of way, causing the collision.

The juvenile was charged for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and cited for failure to yield the right of way. His identity will not be released due to his age.

Providence Road was closed at Raintree Lane during the investigation.
