Family of Asha Degree marches to remind public of her disappearance

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — Asha Degree's family marched on Saturday from their Cleveland County home to where she was last seen 18 years ago.

Degree walked away from her home near Fallston on Valentine's Day in 2000 when she was just 9 years old and hasn't been seen since.

Last year, the Federal Bureau of Investigation committed a special team to look for new clues in the case.

Degree’s family members told Channel 9 that they will march every year to remind people to look for those clues.

"That's why we do this walk every year, so that nobody forgets," said Iquilla Degree, Asha's mother. "We do this walk every year to keep her name out there, to keep her in people's mind, even if it's just once a year."
