MATTHEWS, N.C. — Matthews retailer Family Dollar has agreed to pay $45 million to settle a gender discrimination lawsuit.
The legal battle dates back to 2002 when a group of female store managers said they weren't getting paid the same amount as their male counterparts.
The judge signed off on the settlement March 14.
Family Dollar does not admit to any wrongdoing in the lawsuit.
