Famed chef bringing Tex-Mex restaurant to south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Construction has finally kicked off on a Tex-Mex concept in south Charlotte.

Superica says it expects to open in the Strawberry Hill development by early next summer. That's at the corner of Sardis and Providence Roads in south Charlotte.

Award-winning chef Ford Fry is behind that concept. The 5,900-square-foot restaurant initially planned to open earlier this year.

The Superica concept delivers classic Tex-Mex cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Think Tacos de Barbacoa with slow-cooked brisket, chicken verde enchiladas or fajitas — with tortillas made in house.
