ROCK HILL, S.C. — Professional dart throwing and a host of other non-traditional athletes showcased their talents in Rock Hill Friday.
ESPN’s The Ocho returned to the city for the second year in a row for a national broadcast.
The event features 17 hours of unusual sporting events such as cornhole, belt sander races, OneWheel championships, and more.
It brings a lot of attention, as well as money to Rock Hill.
Alex Spellman, a Boone native, said he has taken the top stop in the Bullshooter Invitational Shoot-Out two years in a row.
“I was forced to play in a little tournament and I was making more money playing this than working at Food Lion,” Spellman said.
>> Channel 9′s Tina Terry also spoke with organizers about The Ocho. Why they say it is a big deal for Rock Hill, in the video at the top of the page.
