CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Adding 17 Major League Soccer matches at Bank of America Stadium each year starting in 2022 gives Tepper Sports & Entertainment even more motivation to transform the surrounding area.
Covid-19 forced Tepper Sports to postpone four major concerts scheduled this spring and summer at the stadium, but all are expected to be rescheduled.
The result in a post-pandemic world will be a Bank of America Stadium as an event hub, featuring concerts, MLS games and NFL Carolina Panthers and college football games. For Tepper Sports, that’s just the start of the party. The company, which owns the stadium and the NFL and MLS teams, is already in the early stages of planning an entertainment district to be developed in Third Ward.
