Eatery reaches end of line in uptown, plans to keep Rock Hill location

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This uptown restaurant closed just before Christmas.

Newk’s Eatery’s final day was Dec. 20. The closing was a business decision by the franchise operator, according to a statement from Newk’s corporate office.

Approximately 29 employees were impacted by the closure. They were encouraged to apply for jobs at the restaurant’s Rock Hill location, with two managers transferred to that site.

“As of now, Rock Hill will stay open,” says Que Davis, associate manager.

This marks the second Newk’s to close in the Charlotte market.
