Early Girl Eatery is putting the finishing touches on its home in Charlotte’s South End

CHARLOTTE — Early Girl Eatery is putting the finishing touches on its home in Charlotte’s South End.

That farm-to-table restaurant with Asheville roots will soft open May 9 with limited hours. Those will expand over the next six weeks or so, says Jesson Gil, who owns Early Girl with wife Cristina.

“We’ve got to stress test it as we go through,” Gil says. “I’d rather have a slow opening and do it right.”

Early Girl occupies 3,600 square feet, with about 1,800 square feet of patio space. It can accommodate 188 diners.

It’s the newest addition to Dimensional Place in South End. That 282,000-square-foot office tower is located near The RailYard and 200 East Bland. Dimensional Fund Advisors and Atlanta-based Cousins Properties own the building.

South End marks the brand’s first expansion outside of Asheville. Early Girl got its start there in 2001.
