CHARLOTTE — A victim of last year’s Duke Energy data breach is suing the Charlotte-based electricity utility.
Matthew Saunders – from Florida – filed a lawsuit in Charlotte’s U.S. District Court last month, The Charlotte Observer reports.
In the lawsuit, Saunders demands Duke Energy review its protection policies from a data breach the company reported last year.
Duke Energy is North Carolina’s largest electric utility, but the company also services many other states including Florida.
The company said last year’s breach didn’t impact all customers and they’re communicating directly with those affected.
