CHARLOTTE — The Duke Energy Foundation has awarded $750,000 worth of grants to 24 organizations to hep prepare their communities to deal with the impact of severe weather.
In the Charlotte region, Gaston County Emergency Management got a $50,000 grant to support an interactive fire safety and severe weather educational trailer.
Rowan County Emergency Management got $25,000 to support the purchase of disaster response trailers.
“Emergency preparedness and storm recovery begin at the local level,” says Duke’s N.C. President Stephen De May.
