Duke Energy announces new president, CEO

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Duke Energy has elected its new president and chief executive officer.

The company announced Tuesday that the board of directors unanimously elected Lynn Good to succeed Jim Rogers.

Good will assume her new role on July 1. She will also serve as a director on the Duke Energy Board.

Rogers, who has served as president and CEO since 2006, will continue to be chairman of the board until he retires at the end of the year.

Good, 54, has served as Duke Energy's executive vice president and chief financial officer since July 2009.
