PINEVILLE, N.C. — A man who led police on a chase in a stolen dump truck in Pineville Monday has been arrested, police said.
The Pineville Police Department said 39-year-old Brett James Catoe from Lancaster, South Carolina was arrested in Cabarrus County.
Police said the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office found Catoe sitting on the front porch of someone’s home. He was arrested and is facing charges in Mecklenburg County, according to officials.

Police said his pending charges include felony fleeing to elude, felony possession of stolen vehicle and resisting, obstructing, and delaying - misdemeanor.
Pineville police said they received a call at around 8 a.m. regarding a dump truck that was stolen out of Lancaster.
Police found the truck and tried to stop it on Interstate 485 Outer Loop near the Mint Hill area, but the suspect did not pull over, according to Pineville police.
The dump truck eventually came to a stop on the railroad tracks on 24/27 and Alvin Hough Road. Police said that once the vehicle jumped onto the railroad tracks, the suspect drove it back into the woods and ran away.
The dump truck was seized, and there were no injuries reported, according to the police department.
