CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a car clipped a utility pole and crashed into Elmwood Cemetery in uptown Charlotte.

The crash happened just after 2 a.m. Tuesday on West Fifth Street.

Authorities said rescue crews had to cut a person out of a car and transport the victim to the hospital.

No information has been released regarding this person's condition.

Duke Energy officials said they still need to replace the power pole, but there are no outages or road closures in the area.
