CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — A logging truck driver was killed Friday morning in Chester County after emergency officials his truck hit a tree that had fallen in the roadway.
The Chester County coroner identified the driver as 79-year-old Floyd Sims. Officials said he was thrown from the cab of the truck and died at the scene.
The logging truck was traveling on SC 72 near JA Cochran Bypass when it hit the tree that had fallen on the roadway, traveled down an embankment and overturned, according to investigators.

Chopper 9 flew over the crash scene and could see extensive damage to the truck and logs scattered all over the road and median.
No other vehicles or passengers were involved in the accident.
