CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced on Monday that a driver involved in a wreck on Sept. 5 with a stolen vehicle in University City has died.

Police said the driver of a stolen 2012 GMC Terrain hit the front of a 2012 Mazda 6 at the intersection at University City Boulevard and the Interstate 85 north ramp at about 12:30 a.m. that morning.
The driver of the GMC ran away, according to CMPD.
The driver of the Mazda, 47-year-old Victoria Lewis, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. She died on Sept. 30 from those injuries, police said.
The GMC was stolen the day before the crash, according to detectives, and no arrests have been made.
