CHARLOTTE — Police say one of the drivers has been arrested after a high-speed street race that led to the death of a 17-year-old last month in north Charlotte.
Channel 9 reported when 17-year-old Alex Rodriguez was killed while riding a motorcycle on Interstate 85 on July 25. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol told us that Rodriguez was hit while two cars were speeding on the highway.

According to jail records obtained by Channel 9, 22-year-old Julia Samantha Henderson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the case.
A warrant says that Henderson was driving an Audi S5 and racing a Mercedes-Benz on I-85 at the time of the crash. Henderson was reportedly speeding at more than 132 miles per hour.
The warrant identified the other driver in the Mercedes-Benz, but Channel 9 hasn’t found any criminal charges filed against that person yet in connection with the deadly race.
Rodriguez was not listed as being part of the race.
Henderson was booked into the Mecklenburg County jail, and she’s being held without bond.
